And then this week I extended a baptismal invitation to someone for the
first time!!! I know, isn't that sad? It's always been my companion who's done
it. But it was really cool, we were on exchanges and so Sister Jasper was
elsewhere while I stayed in Fairview with another sister who's on her second
transfer. We took one of our investigators and his daughter to the Mormon Trail
Center with a couple of members. Because of course I'd served there last
transfer, I was able to take them on tour and really focus it on James' (the
investigator) needs. He'd been having questions about the plan of salvation, so
I really focused on the temple and it's blessing when talking about the
pioneers, and how they were able to keep going when they lost loved ones because
they knew they would see with them again. Then we went over to the cemetery and
the temple, and I asked him if he wanted to live with his family forever and
receive all the blessings the pioneers had. He said yes! So I told him all he
needed to do to get those blessings was ask for them and do what Heavenly Father
asked him to do. Then I asked him if he would be baptized and he said yes! Bam!
It was soooo cool! I could feel the spirit guiding me the whole time, and it was
just super amazing! Now I can say that the first time I asked someone to be
baptized was in front of the temple. It's so awesome!
