Well, 4th of July ended up being pretty okay here. There was a ward breakfast
we
went to and a couple of our investigators came to it, so that was great!
Then we
had district meeting, then this non-member guy who isn't in our area,
but
apparently he really likes the Sisters at the trail center, invited a
bunch of
us over for a steak dinner. It was almost as good as your steak,
Dad! :) Then
after that, we were told that we had to lock ourselves inside
for the night and
do weekly planning, which was kinda lame. But we did our
best to make it fun -
got in our pj's, popped popcorn, etc. Holy crow, it's a
good thing I got those
ear plugs, because people here in Braksa go all out
for the 4th! People spend
thousands of dollars on huge fireworks! I stepped
outside for a minute and it
sounded like I was smack in the middle of the
revelutionary war, it was so loud
and it never stopped!
Aw, Thomas'
baby blessing! Is it a good thing or a bad thing that I completely
forgot
that I would miss that? That's so awesome! From the sound of the blessing
you
gave him, Dad, it seems like he's going to be some serious
missionary
material! Just saying. ^_^
Yup, I got your letter! Btw,
thank you so much for all the info on Thomas! Still
working on reading all of
it, but I've already used him a bit in my tours!
That's on thing, here at the
trail center, everyone's always asking about your
family history. I should
probably pull out that 4 generation pedegree chart you
made for me, but I
keep forgetting. *blush*
And btw, it's a good thing I didn't give you my
address 'cause I've moved!
Again! We were living with members, but now
they're moving, so they kicked us
out, so we're living in an apartment until
they can find another member to take
us in. It's actually, for now, faster
when you send it to the mission office
'cause then they just bring it to the
trail center mail room and we just pick it
up when we're on shift. In
Holdrege, it seemed to take forever for mail to get
anywhere!
So fun
story time! First off, to give you a quick description of our
temporary
apartment in one sentence: Elders used to live here. 'Nuff said. So
the other
day I killed a giant spider in a moldy bathtub by pouring straight
alchohol on
it. I immediatley thought of Brother Harrop. :)
Then
remember how I said they have wild rabbits all over the place here? Well,
one
day while were tracting, I caught a baby bunny! It
was
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
cute!!!!!!!!!!
I let it go, but oooooh, it was so adorable!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHH! :D
Then
they had a new thing arrive at the trail center yesterday; a first
print
edition of the Book of Mormon! It turns out there's only 1800 of them,
and most
of them are lost, so it's now worth millions and millions of
dollars. And they
let me hold it! I've put pictures in the gallery.
:D
And I will get pictures of the trail center to you! Because it's
summer, it's
super busy, but when we have a slow time I'll snag some for you.
:)
